The CATION 2.0 trial commenced recruitment at Site 1 on 14 July 2025. Recruitment at Sites 2 and 3 was delayed, with participant enrolment beginning on 15 September 2025. A Clinical Nurse Consultant at each site supported trial delivery, including participant recruitment, catheterisation support, and infection follow-up.
The CATION (2.0) study: Trial completion and extension
Recruitment for CATION 2.0 was completed at Site 1 on 13 February 2026. Due to challenges with participant recruitment, the recruitment period was extended by four weeks at Site 2 and eight weeks at Site 3 to support enrolment targets.
